Our Training Philosophy

At SB Training we believe that exercise is a tool to be used to enhance the quality of life. As we all know, life has its ups and downs. Training should be something that helps you maintain a balance at all times. We will work with you to develop a program that adjusts to your life style.

At SB Training we understand that it is not possible to maintain peak fitness all year round, so we use periodized training cycles to achieve peak fitness at certain times. Our goal is to help you maintain a base level of fitness that peaks at certain times to accommodate special events such as upcoming weddings, vacations, or competitions.

Training

Whether you are competitive athlete, fitness enthusiast, or novice our strength training program will help you build and maintain healthy muscles, bone density while gaining the physique you desire.

Conditioning

Our conditioning program assesses what fitness level you are at then uses a variety of methods to reach your fitness goals. By using many forms of aerobic exercise such as the bike, running, swimming, rowing, hiking, and many others the result is a well conditioned client.

Rehabilitation

Pain Free Range of Motion is the GOAL. Our Injury Prevention & Rehabilitation (or Post Therapy) program occurs at many levels that gets you back to life as soon as possible.

Coaching

If you are planning on running a marathon, racing a triathlon, or getting the agility training for a particular sport we will give you the program and instruction to succeed.

What is a Crazy Fit Training Camp?

Crazy Fit Camps are fitness program designed to help you develop ability and confidence in all aspects of your life. Using a systematic approach and a unconventional method we create different programs for each camp based on the participants. The goal of each camp is to ensure your ability to complete at least one lap at Crazy Fit Challenge 2010.

    What is Crazy Fit Challenge?

Crazy Fit Challenge is an obstacle course race put on SB Training. While walking or running the 1.5 mile course you will complete 5 obstacle challenges. There are three levels each level represented by the number of laps completed.  As well as having a bonus lap for the level 3 participants feeling that they need more!

Why should I do a Crazy Fit Camp?

Crazy Fit Camps aren’t just another weight loss program. We’re not going to work you hard for 6 weeks, lose 10lbs, and leave you to your own demise. Instead, we are going to set a physically challenging goal and help you accomplish it.  We will give you a reason to work hard and the result of this will be increased strength and weight loss. We will continue to push and motivate you with our crazy methods guaranteeing that it will always be new and exciting.

Client Testimonials

  • I joke to friends that my exercise regime is simple: “I give my body to Mike.”  As a university professor, I naturally tend to live in my head more than my body. But starting about eight years ago, Mike undertook to get me into shape; and now, at age seventy, I can testify that his expert guidance and involvement have brought me to a level of fitness and well-being that I probably haven’t experienced since my twenties.  I consider finding and working with Mike to be one of the most fortunate things that has happened to me in the last decade.

  • Mike and his trainers have been working with our group for exactly twelve weeks. My initial goal was weight loss. However, during this time period I’ve not only lost weight and inches (2 inches in the waist)  but seen increases in strength, balance and an improved posture. Additionally, training at SBTraining is something I look forward to as each session is unique mixing in activities for strength, cardio, core stability and stretching. It has also been virtually pain free for my joints which has been an issue in the past.. Mike is an excellent trainer possessing an abundance of knowledge, a knack for motivating people while keeping things fun and competitive!

  • During the past three years I have been training with Mike, I have been able to improve my triathlon times, compete in longer distance events, and avoid injuries. The best part is that I have been able to do this without really increasing the amount of time I train each week – I’m simply training smarter and sticking to a consistent year around plan.

  • Ok so I am not getting any younger – pushing Medicare age.  I have been in the same 10 pound weight range for over 30 years – I have a FABULOUS designer wardrobe – something for every fashion/fad that recurs regularly.  But after working out with Mike for the better part of 5 years – first at a prior gym, and now at SB Training, not only does EVERYTHING FIT, but it fits better because I am tighter and stronger than ever…THEN, about 4 years ago I took up golf – I have been the most improved player at my Club in two of those 4 years, and now no one cringes when they find they are paired up with me – in fact in a rather high percentage of the time we win, as I generally play in competition better than my handicap…SO WHO SAYS THEY CANT SEE THE RESULTS!!!

    Pat Klink
  • Once I considered myself a man. Full of life with an insatiable desire to exceed in everything I did. Mike changed all that. Now, I am merely a shell of the man I used to be fearful of everything I do waking up in the middle of the night in a full sweat crying like a school girl having been broken down by Mike and his sadistic group of trainers. Superman, once a beloved hero is now a menacing position torturing my body in an ungodly position. And Captain Morgan, once a dear friend providing social lubrication in awkward situations has been reduced to method of pain for my desensitized groin. If you’re feeling overly confident in life and have the desire to be humbled, I strongly suggest Mike’s program.

  • I am a firm believer that to be successful in business (mentally successful) you need to be physically fit (physically successful). There is no doubt in my mind, that when I am in training with Mr. Claytor, my work productivity increases, my stress level decreases, and my confidence level goes through the roof. (I also sleep better!)  A great sales trainer once said the “tougher you are on yourself, the easier life is on you”, and nothing could be truer!
